“If you want to give birth to your true self, you are going to have to dig down into that body of yours and let your soul howl. Sometimes you have to take a leap of faith and trust that if you turn off your head, your feet will take you where you need to go.”

Gabrielle Roth

We are already whole and complete. The yogic mystics and sages refer to this as the True Self, The I am and the Unboundless/limitless aspect of who we are.

You may have noticed this from watching some children play, the ability to connect to themselves, to be themselves, to express joy and to connect with others through play and contact. Before our Ego self is fully developed we are more in this natural social and safe flow state (that is unless we have not had healthy enough secure attachment or significant trauma).

Of course there is a point when a healthy sense of ego develops, however in the case of misattunement as an infant – (developmental trauma, Adverse Childhood events or ancestral trauma) we learn to feel unsafe and disconnected not just from others but from our basic sense of self.

“I had a series of 1:1 sessions with Kelly as well as attending her Saturday class. Her deep insight into mind-body connection and personalized approach have greatly enhanced my practice and overall well-being. Highly recommend for anyone who needs to reconnect with their own body.” Corinna

When we are in a trauma response, our nervous system patterning is one of chronic dysregulation and stress and hence we fragment from a natural healthy functioning Ego into mental illness and chronic stress states. These imbalances and blockages can cause, contribute or exacerbate physical health conditions due to the nervous system state changes that shift the nervous system out of ‘safe and ventral’ rest, repair and digest. Science is now clearly linking stress to chronic illness and emotional supression as causing chronic pain. We also learn to push everything down (suppress emotions and our natural expression) and avoid, deny and push away life, rather than be part of it due to conditioning and disconnection.

Somatic Illumination and Soma-Rewilding is one to one Integrative Somatic Therapy. This one-to-one approach is highly recommended for individuals experiencing long-term ill health, nervous system dysregulation, emotional blockages, and physical pain. As the focus is entirely on your individual needs, I tailor the most effective tools to support your unique healing journey.

Through body movement, deep emotional listening, and gentle exploration of blocks and resistance, we work together to bring you into greater connection with your unchanging awareness and embodied presence. This process fosters deep healing and a sense of wholeness. We also address the shifts in the nervous system brought on by trauma, illness, pain, or chronic stress, using practical tools designed to rewire and regulate the nervous system when applied consistently. These practices can significantly enhance your overall quality of life.

With Somatic Illumination, we move toward your inherent wholeness, creating a sense of safety and connection essential for healing. I guide you through the most effective and transformational tools I’ve discovered through both personal practice and work with clients.

Sessions provide a safe, held space where you can gently listen to your body’s messages without re-triggering trauma responses. Instead, the focus is on building a secure container for healing. I offer a range of practices to help you resource yourself, build resilience, and empower you to apply these tools in everyday life. These science-backed somatic practices have shown profound results for many.

My integrative approach draws from the work of Dr. Scott Lyons (certified in SSR3 & Integrative Somatic Therapy), Dr. Peter Levine, Dr. Arielle Schwartz (polyvagal yoga), and the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model developed by Dr. Richard Schwartz. I have also studied modules on somatic experiencing, inquiry, and processing, and I continue to follow the latest advancements in these fields.
